If you are planning to travel to the United States for a few years, you should really get to know what it is like there and really become familiar with the seasons and holidays there. If you are going to the US for school, knowing all the major holidays is important because if you do not know them, you may find yourself at the school and there is no class because it is a holiday. The first holiday in the year is obviously New Year's Day. You may already know of this holiday because it is a globally know holiday so this one is pretty easy for you to remember. On the 18th day of January, Americans celebrate Martin Luther King Day. The next month, on the 15th day of February is President's Day. Only a few states celebrate President's Day so you will have to check in what state you are in before you bring the party food out. If you are in a state the celebrates President's Day, then go ahead and celebrate it with your friends and family. In May, we have mother's day and Memorial Day. Although Mother's Day is not a public holiday, it is still celebrated and it occurs on the second Sunday of the month of May. Memorial Day is on the last Monday of May. While Mother's Day is celebrated on May, Father's Day is celebrated on June. 

 

The last and most important holiday in America happens on July 4; which is America's Independence Day. This is perhaps the holiday that is most celebrated all throughout the country. Because America became independent at this time, many, many Americans go all out to celebrate what their forefathers have accomplished.
